Hello chaps i'm new to all this.

Does any shop/garage or anyone in fact in the North West (Blackpool area esp) do replacement rear glass windscreens for an 04?

Insurance reckon it's a complete hood roof job and want £350 excess and a certain windscreen auto repair want £500.

Many thanks.

Yup, all good advice from those that know stuff.

Chris, I thought just for a second you were going off at a tangent re trimmers. As we know Dewi's the man for Bush trimming.

A little known secret is that our resident trimmer aka Dewi was personally invited to Canada by no less than Justin Trudea , since being the man in charge he decided a makeover was required and with all those bushes under his domain decided our Dewi was the man for the job.He had not been there long before he was kidnapped by the US on hearing of his renown and sent to Alaska to sort out the unsightly bushes that now started to throw off their wraps now that Spring had arrived. He escaped back to Vancover and his thankfully heading east with trimmers in hand.

Far be it for me to give advice on 'Bush trimming' :giggle: ....When our resident expert, is far afield, but I'm sure he will have plenty to say on his return!....  .... :giggle:

To the original question, I can only second (or 3rd) what Tim and Dave said - Carl at CBS is you man, give him a bell he's a top bloke and will sort something for you

Thanks again. Spoke to CBS today and he says they don't fit rear windscreens on MX5s?

Carl is back next week so will give him a try.

Thanks again.

Just wondering if you ever found somewhere to have you rear windscreen sorted as I have a need for someone to do that on mine as glass finally giving away from the top of my roof and I can't go roof down without it coming out every time I put it down....

Been to Pickerings in Bradford that a couple of local garages said should have the glue needed but I go to them and get told I need a new or second hand roof for them to fit and they can't just glue the existing one together!!

So been searching the internet / YouTube for perhaps doing a bit of a bodge job myself but I'd rather have it done by someone who know what they are doing.

If it comes to it I may well have to go new roof which I'm seeing is going to be at least £570 incl fitting - trying to pull a list of places to call around but thought I'd start with a place that someone may have actually used for similar job?

Messaging CBS on FB right now and I'll see what they say - good suggestion by those who suggested I'd not come across them yet

Hi Tracy....

Might be work having a chat with these folk....https://tonyarcher.co.uk/home/

I've used them many a time for motorbike stuff and can vouch for his quality/service...I see he also shows hoods in his gallery.

Good luck with the repair.

Just ended up getting a local guy who does car window repairs to look at it and fixed the glass in to make it at least waterprood and has held well and for just £25 not bad even if it only lasts a year I'm happy.
