Just had AC re-gassed, windscreen still takes ages to clear, not a lot of air coming out of air vents, centre vent more air than end vents.

Takes about 10 mins. to clear. Have had brush through drain holes, nothing came out.  :( Any answers welome.

When I used to park my car outside in winter, the demist always took an age.

Wondering if putting 1/2 car cover on might improve things ?

The MX5 has a fairly small capacity HVAC system, but if it is running correctly will clear light mist in about 20 seconds when set to AC. Heavy condensation on the inside of the screen will take several minutes if parked outside.

Please also bear in mind that the AC will not work below about 5oC to protect the compressor from damage due to the possible formation of ice crystals, so in winter conditions it simply will not activate.

Take a small thermometer and insert into one of the vents. Run the engine at fast idle with the AC switched on and temperature selection on cold. Take note of the lowest temperature achieved. then do the same thing with the AC switched off and note the difference, if any.

[EDIT: I found that a half-cover actually made condensation worse in certain conditions]

This is where the dehumidifying bags can help.
