Thanks.

The top of the line Australian model wasn't...    but I'm not sure knowing that helps!

In the US they have been provided on all cars since at least 2008. As Martin says “but I’m not sure knowing that helps!”

My 2014 doesn’t have them. so I doubt it. I think the very last special edition in the UK had them.

I don't recall ever seeing one with TPMS when I was looking for a late NC last year. You can usually tell as the tyre will have a different valve to a standard black rubber one.

It is a frosty day today - has a light come on on your dash - if so you have TPMS !

Double check by letting 5lbs psi from just one tyre and see if that triggers a tyre symbol light on the dash.

The TPMS on my ND is completely unreliable, frequently alerting unnecessarily but NOT alerting when I had a flat!!

I wouldn't bother.

Thanks for all the replies, I was thinking about changing the Alloys and was hoping that i wouldn't have to faff on with tyre pressure monitors.

As far as i know, no they weren't Paul - not for the UK market anyway. My 2011 Sportblack certainly never had TPMS. I'm not sure what type of TPMS is fitted by Mazda but even if the car had it, it would probably be similar to the Ford one where the cars computer measures the rolling circumference of each wheel. A lower tyre pressure would result in a change, therefore even with different wheels fitted it would still work ok.

Nick, have the TPMS valves plastic or metal caps?
A NW member bought some metal caps for his ND from a well known supplier and has recently had to cut them off with a junior hacksaw as they were "welded" to the valve stem.

The problem with dissimilar metals, needing more bling is a terrible affliction.

My ND metal valves and  caps are fine but I had exactly that problem on my Toyota GT86 when I fitted ultra light wheels which came with bolt in metal valves and caps.  I learnt the lesson.

A smear of copper grease on the threads will insure that metal valve caps will always undo  :)

I know a few people who had the same problem. I had plastic yellow dice on mine once, until I went to a car show and someone ‘liked’ them :( needless to say they didn’t stick

As a 25th AE owner I can confirm that it does indeed have TPMS
