I do wonder on the Mk3.75 Anniversary edition whether you could get rid of it completely (without annoying the MOT testers)  as it's the same vintage as mine. I don't have it, thank goodness. I'm sure there must be ways of disabling the dash light perhaps if your thinking of the BBR 200 bring it up in the conversation with [email protected] GTi.

It would seem that tyre pressure monitoring systems were fitted as standard to all cars registered in the UK from November 2014, and is a MOT failure if the light is on at the time of a MOT test. My 25th Anniversary was registered in Sept 14, and I think most were registered by the end of October, but maybe Mazda fitted TPMS to the 25AE in case some were unsold by November?

 

Not sure of the legal position if TPMS is fitted, and non functioning, but the vehicle is registered before the mandatory date?

Maybe worth the OP taking his car to a tyre place, who maybe able to check if one of the sensors is faulty
