I have been watching the TV breakfast programme and enjoying it very much.

Our idiot Prime Minister (Scotty from advertising) did a big Speech to the Nation after Trump did his and made all the same mistakes. This meant he came down heavily on the side of events going ahead.

This morning the country's most respected epidemiologist stated frankly that large public events should not go ahead. This is serious.

The Premier of Victoria got up not long ago and said that the Grand Prix can go ahead BUT no spectators will be present. (Within his powers.)

The GP officials, local, national, regional and global have been currently working out their response for about 12 hours.

McLaren withdrew and are leaving, one of the members of their team tested positive.

I don't think whatever comes out will be fair... Oh, but this is Formula 1, isn't it?

It makes better TV than the race though.

As our American cousins say, "Somebody grew a spine," and cancelled the Australian Grand Prix.

The gates were supposed to have been opened two hours ago for fans to watch practice.

I really don't know about all this Martin. There is talk about cancelling much of the football here, which is no bad thing I suppose. As far as I know, Rugby is carrying on. WIll all the football fans now spend Saturday in the pub instead? It is all too disjointed and full of scare talk to make sense of. You stay well Martin. Nice to hear from you again.

I guess that this is unknown territory for everyone and 50 people will have 50 different viewpoints.  The Pope's answer is prayer but what does Greta say ?

.........  but what does Greta say ?

Probably: "Jag är en dum liten flicka som inte vet något om livet och bryr sig mindre om dem som gör det"

Jackie has been on a week's break in Cyprus with one of her mates, thankfully she departed Paphos just after 14:00 and is en route to Edinburgh. Her arrival procedure will be interesting.

And it's getting worse....

Motorsport UK has pulled the plug on all Motosport permits until the end of April.

My Motor club has therefore had to cancel our May Bank Holiday event at Crystal Palace, plus various other events.

The Autotests Autosolos etc will be a pain but not too much problem financially, however a considerable amount of expense has already been incurred for Crystal Palace.

It's going to be a boring 6 weeks or so (assuming the close down is not extended)

Did Jackie get home safely and in reasonable time ?   Used to take brief holidays in Cyprus in the 1950s but in Kyrenia with it's Crusader castle or in the Troodos Mountains.  I was still a British Colony then and just before the EOKA troubles.

That's the British Bulldog Spirit!

I remember my dear old Nan telling us kids stories about the war...how ordinary folk would carry on about their usual business, shopping, going to work, going to the pub, going to the cinema, visiting nearby friends and relations...all during The Blitz!

They would not allow some Kraut with a silly moustache to change their lifestyle, so similarly...up yours, Covid 19!!

Right, I'm off to the pub now, see you later folks  ;)

Mother went through the Blitz in the East End. She used to have to adjust the walk to School each morning depending on what roads had been shut due to collapsed houses or unexploded bombs.

When the register was called it was not uncommon for the Teacher to call out a name to receive the reply "dead miss"

She still gets nervous if there are Air Raid sirens on the TV

Needless to say what her opinion of today's snowflake generation is..........

Glastonburys cancelled,

Gonna be a miserable year....

Oh well am off to Wetherspoons, least they are still open!

You are forgetting the benefits though. No more recording of Eastenders, Holby, and all the other stuff that the BBC likes to call entertainment.
