They were sold here as Mercury Capri. But I had forgotten when they were sold. 

 

I had a privileged pre-launch preview of the Mk 1 Capri just before I left Ford Motors in 1969.  We subsequently had three of the later Mk 3 Capris in the family:

Looks very clean that Nick, and just the same as a mate of mine had many years ago, although his was yellow with a black 'Starsky and Hutch' stripe!  :rolleyes:

 

While I'm not a fan of Capri's there are two Mk3's? (the prettier ones) at Mathewsons up for auction next month, both look quite tidy and have a bit more performance, which was sadly lacking in some of the Capris, and would be my preferred option should I have to pick.....

2.8   good cars but crap in the wet with the back end coming round  great fun tho
