My mk1 eunos came with the original double din pioneer system and sadly it doesn't work properly. My husband blames my taste in music and so I've tried other genres, but it's still the same!
Can anyone recommend a good stereo please? I know that I may have to get a cubby hole as well if I choose a single din stereo.

I have a JVC

KW-R600BTE

Double-Din, it works great, connects to my I-Phone by bluetooth, as I start the car, it came with a microphone as well, so I can use handsfree, and I think you can use other telephones too. ( think you have to download an app to make it work )

Thanks Bengt, it does look a great stereo and I like the idea of hands free. The price is a little out of my budget but I am certainly looking at a pre owned one of the same model. I will keep my fingers crossed that I can find one.

I'm still looking for a used double din stereo for a good price. Has anyone on here got one or know anyone that has one to sell, please? just a thought/wish.

Good morning Pat. I'm constantly looking on eBay to be honest but they seem to want the same price as it is in shops. I'm hoping to bag a bargain. Famous last words!

Jackie, it seems rare to get a bargain on ebay, or anywhere else on the internet these days.. I'm always looking...

When I needed a new radiator for my mk1 last year, I looked on the internet, found the best price I could, and then phoned Eurocarparts, and they beat the price by about £4  so I couldn't grumble at that........

Rob, I'm a bit of a bargain hunter and have patience, although using another car that has a stereo just reinforces the fact that I need one sooner rather than later. There's a bargain out there, I just need to find it.

I did ring him and he was very nice. He told me he's thrown out about 100 double din stereos in the past and now people want them.he didn't have one but did suggest I get the cubby to reduce the size of the gap and then I could get a single din unit.

Hi, Jackie. To be honest I'd stick with the double din as personally I prefer the look of them. You're not likely to pick up an E.Bay bargain but you may get one if you sign on to a couple of Jap car forums and scour the classifieds - or ask.   I got one for my Mk from a mate's son who took the original one out of of his Toyota Celica and let me have it cheap.  It's worth perservering I think - double dins rule   :giggle:

Pic of the one in my Mk1 - it even had a tape player!  Very retro

Thanks Dave, that does look great. I'm of the same opinion, having looked at hundreds. I need a cubby though as its a 2 and a half dine hole so that's my first purchase anyway. I will look on the jap forums as well, thank you again.
