1971 MGB Roadster fully rebuilt from bare shell 2000 inc. mechanicals etc and more fully described in separate attachment within this Garage section. Collected Friday 13 May 2016 from local MG specialist (good day to collect a car !) following addition of a few pre purchase enhancements inc. Electronic Ignition , secondary Electric Cooling Fan and a Remote Brake Servo. Only done 6000 miles over the 16 years since the full restoration in 2000 and will now be subject of further ' detailing' etc .. very different car from the '91 BRG Mk1 (which I still miss very much) but I had a classic British Sports Car on my 'Bucket List' for a long time now.

Details of 'The 2000 Resto' .

MGB Roadster UDL228K RESTORATION SUMMARY
This car , originally registered back in September 1971 on the Isle of Wight, eventually found it’s way down to Cornwall (see History File) where, over a period between April 1999 and may 2000 it underwent a full body / interior / mechanical rebuild by Tim Kelly and his team at Tim Kelly MG Specialists of St. Agnes .
During this restoration UDL228K was also repainted in Old English White and retrimmed in Red – a colour combination seen on the Mk2 roadsters in 1967/8. Prior to resto. it was finished in Flame Red with Black Interior although it actually left the factory in Bedouin with Autumn Leaf Interior. During compilation of 'History File' in due course I shall hopefully establish when it changed to Flame Red etc. !
I'm liking this very much Jim, certainly a step away from the Mk1 (I bet you'll get another one at some point).

I'm looking forward to hearing more of what you do with it though. Vey nice!!

That's just superb, Jim - a real minter in every way and almost too pristine to take out onto the battleground we call public roads and all the cretinous steering wheel attendants thereon.

I truly hope you enjoy every minute of it and that it treats you as well as you will treat it!
Got the Heritage Cert.through today ... good news as the car's VIN / Engine Nos. are exactly as they were 45 years ago !! ..RESULT . Plus nice to know build dates / supplying dealer / county (or Island in this case -IOW) of origin to assist with my OCD habit of building a very precise 'History File' . Now ordering up a few 'extras' inc. Boot Carpet set / Additional Cabin Floormats / Seat Belt locator brackets / Scissor Jack (apparently the 'Original' Jack I have is designed to kill !! ) . Lot's of work to do yet ... 'Rostyle Wheel Refurb' / Engine Bay Detailing / Selective Dinitroling / in fact lot's of OCD B***oc*S !!!
