I took the ND to service yesterday.
Had a walk around Southport and then returned to collect the car....( only note was for rusty rear brake discs for the second/third time!...🤭).
Everything else checked out ok.....

While there I got involved chatting to the salesman, and was looking over one of the new CX-30's ( I quite like the look of them....)
I asked if they had any demos available....Sadly not, but there was a new one in the showroom.
I must admit I've thought about reducing back to two the cars we have, and as the CX-3 (which has been a good car) isn't getting any younger I was starting to get a bit more interested....
To cut a long story short we will be collecting a new CX-30 sometime in April ( Yes, this is the lead time for a new car nowadays!).
So sadly I'll be bidding goodbye to the ND and CX-3!... 😢 ....
While the people that know me will say 'never say never'....we would have to see, I'll miss the little thing and its been great for touring the country side.

But right now it's more needs must, and in terms of practicality the Vitara has to stay.
I'll also have the bike for 'fun' starting in March....but who knows when I decide to call it a day with the bikes! 😜

More soon......

Wow!

Didn't see that coming, Chris

I am surprised your ND is going, but having done a similar thing myself last year I sort of understand 🤔

I am indeed saying "never say never" and look forward to more news on the CX-30 👍

Sad to hear that your days of MX5 ownership are coming to an end, but good to hear that you are staying in the Mazda family.

Maybe one day, if you give up owning motorbikes, you can buy an old MX5 as your fun car.

To be honest Kev it's driven by the need for a better family car....Plus a £1000 dealer contribution and £500 Loyalty bonus!! 🤭🤭
The fact that 3 cars and mainly me doing the driving now, 3 into really just 1 is too big a fit!
And once the bike is up and running again will mean the ND will sit unless we go away.
But once I give up the bike ( not ready yet!...Lol)...who knows! ;)

Sad to hear this Chris but life changes as do our personal & family needs and they always take precedence.
I know full well you'll be staying around but that's not to say I'm sad you'll not be scooting around in a '5 anymore.
Been a long time with them, I joined the team via the old .com site in 2004 and you were already well involved with this little car.
Keep posting and keep in touch mate 👍😁😁

Thanks Steve...Yes 2006 when a Mk 1 Harvard came into my life (I was giving up bikes back then too!...😂)...
I have an 'Archive' of no fewer than 8 Mx-5s in my history....And all been good to me compared to the Fords etc I owned in the past.
Having seen a few CX-30s about I must admit I fell for the looks first and the joy of new car motoring....The inside is a real step up in quality too IMO.
And recently having spent quite a bit on brake parts for all three cars, I don't really want to be rolling around on the floor fixing them!...😍

Now should I come across an ownerless 'Rocketeer'.....Hmmmmm! 😁

I 'Visit' from time to time GD, as the Mazda dealer there has been good with me over the years, unlike my 'local' dealers who switched to MG almost overnight, but didn't feel the need to tell customers!....
