Hi folks, I'm thinking of treating myself to a DAB radio for my MK3 so I can fit a reversing camera (I park in a very tight spot at home) and wondered if anyone has used the standard aerial with any success? I got away with it on my Defender by fitting a signal booster but don't think I'll be so lucky with the MX5.

Hi....Not on my Mx but, fitted an android/DAB unit to my Vitara and used a standard aerial and it works fine for what I need, but just occasionaly the signal weakens.
Does that on the CX-3 too to be fair.
Dunno if that's any help.

Sorry to hijack, I thinking of fitting an Android unit to the MX (when I'm back on my feet) just wondering what unit you went for and are you happy with it?

Sorry GD just see your post....I bought one designed to fit the Vitara specifically from Amazon, was only a fairly cheap Chinese jobby, but works well for the reverse camera, and I use a USB stick for the music I listen to, it does have sat-nav although I've never used it, and it 'mirror-links to my phone but again I don't use it!
Sorry that's a bit vague....

I’ve been looking at some of the higher end Android units, still reasonable price and seem to be quite well spec’d and those I’ve looked at also have CarPlay which I found quite good in my previous car.

I was looking at a 'Pioneer' android 10 when I came across the one I bought ...it came with all fittings and facia mount so was 'plug n play' which is always a bonus, plus as the car sleeps on the car park over the road didn't want anything the local scrotes might take a fancy to!... 😁
This is what I was going to buy....https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pioneer-Do...450&sprefix=Pioneer+android+car,aps,79&sr=8-5
