Unfortunately not been able to use my 5 yet as still in the process of selling my daily driver (a whole other story for another day!) but have managed to drag it out the garage and give it a coat of looking at over the weekend and noticed something I'm curious about.

Was working under the bonnet (adding a lead to the battery for my trickle charger) and noticed a couple of devices on the inner wings close to the firewall, I'm guessing they are some sort of active bonnet for pedestrian impact protection (or possibly to flick them off the bonnet) but that seems a bit advanced for an MX-5.

Is this correct or any other offers?

That's correct Cobra...exactly what they are!....
So much safer now for you when some unthinking pedestrian jumps on your bonnet!...🤣
Excellent! So I no longer have to worry about knocking down pedestrians, this is progress particularly these days when we have to spend so much time on our phones keeping up to date on social media. Well done Mazda.
