Following on from Jonos amazing video finds, it might be a good idea to keep them all in the same, easy to find thread...pinned of course (if mods don't mind).

I'll start with a rare French passion and secret love. I am known for my live of French cars...but this one is for me a dream. Very rare, but gorgeous..

Agreed about the French cars, over the decades they have given us vehicles from very basic to uber luxurious but for me they all have alittle flair about them, with a few exceptions that is. I owned a R25 2.0 TXE for 6 years, bought at 3 years old with 85k miles covered. I was banging out the deal when anold mate from the trade walked in,we exchanged pleasantries, the dealer caught on to us knowing each other, I then snapped the car at trade, bought as seen for ÂŁ1700 (1993). In my ownership I changed the clutch, the front discs, popped a set of slightly lowered spring on (yes, really) and a pair of track rod ends as running repairs. Other than that it needed the usual mileage related consumables. It had electric everything and et despite the rep that some give French cars, every item down to the memory seats and compressors for the various air bags in the seats to adjust six I think support areas all worked as new. Loved it and to a degree, miss it to this day.

I've liked the Facel Vega since reading about it in an old spy novel that was left in the office back in the late '70s. Not knowing what it was I looked it up. That meant a trip to the library in those days with no Google. However did we manage?

I've never actually seen a Facel Vega, only in magazines of the era. There was never anyone in my neighbor hood rich enough to purchase one. But from pictures, they were truely lovely. They were V-8 powered with an auto box. Can anyone tell me the source of the power train. I have a vague recollection that it was sourced by Chrysler. A monster Hemi?

And Jono, another wonderful bit of car porn! Thanks

A short vid.

Is it just me or does it look very wide?

It was definitely noted as being quite big/wide by Clarkson when they tested in on TG, IIRC the weight was mentioned to but in reference to some of the Lotus cars of he time -evora perhaps- all made up for when the open roads were hit though.

The car is beautiful... :wub2: and is still capable of awaking all those little boy dreams from when I first saw photographs as a child. :skip:

I am glad he has owned it for so long... even if he pronounces it 'Mura'.

His collection is... extensive!

Wow! the fab sound of the Growler and the growly roar of the Miura tho i've never taken to the looks of the Lambo. BUT i am so pleased it exists.
And great choice for The Italian Job opening even tho what occurs is a tad upsetting lol
