A Brompton folding bike to fit in the boot of an MX5, I wasted all day yesterday trying to find a bike that will fit in the boot and only a Brompton will fit.
Cheers Dave.

Very nice!
What's it like for weight? Just wondered if you think it would be possible to carry one, or better yet two on the boot lid rack.
They'd be very useful for a weekend away as long as there was room for luggage.
It might be worth designing a bespoke carrier. I made one for my microlight and that used to sit on the boot lid of a TR7!

Not too sure about the weight possibly about 23lbs (i'd need to check) the main reason i bought it is my eldest lad is 22, my youngest is 16 and both are of an age now where its not 'cool' to go out with the old man (me) in his 5, so rather than sit at home vegitating 3 weekends a month i can now go for a blast, park up and have a pedal about and get fit at the same time, hence the reason for only buying one and yes it would go on the rack if need be.

Both my wife & daughter want the passenger seat so it would be good to carry two.
From your photos it struck me that two should fit nicely side by side if upright rather than flat.
I've got the power roof so the boot rack is not recommended but I could design something (it's my job) that should keep clear of the moving cover.
Aren't those bikes a bit pricey?

They do a rack to fit on the power roof - boot if you search MX5.com, in the relevant section, somebody has one fitted and has posted pictures, sorry i cant be more specific than that, maybe Jo could help with a link as she is more adept with computers than i am, pricey? are you sitting down? they start at £700 for which you get nothing but a basic bike, mine £879.99p (Gulp) well i've nowt else to spend my money on, and it's MY money.

Vehicle Automotive tail & brake light Car Vehicle registration plate Tire
Sorry about the dark pictures but it was raining and the 5 was in the garage.
