Happy new NC owner

Hi all- happy to have bought my 1.8i NC 2008 last weekend. Loving my commute using the back roads instead of the M6 and looking forward Cumbrian B roads this summer.
I will have questions!

Thanks- sorry for the slow reply- I was out driving the country lanes taking my dad for a pint! He’s also now grinning from ear to ear.

Ha! You were doing exactly what MX-5s are designed for -- driving fun!

So glad your dad is having fun too!

Enjoy! 😄

Hi FattsMX....👋
Welcome to the 'Life' forum and the wonderful Mx-5.
Must admit only time my Mx-5 sees motorways is if I have to be somewhere for a certain time....Back roads much more fun!
Plenty info in this forums pages to digest but ask away if you need to!
Good to hear you got the (sweeter)1.8 too....I had an Anniversary model and loved it...

Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome. I’m heading out into the Lake District today and will maybe get out to Wasdale Head. I’ll take the camera and hopefully post some pics here later.

A belated but warm welcome to 'Life' as you will have gathered we are a friendly bunch here and there is also an incredible amount of information available from this friendly bunch. I see you have a Stormy Blue, definitely one of the nicer colours they did for the NC, so nice my second NC was in that very same colour.
Enjoy, enjoy and enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome. It was the colour that did it in the end. I’d thought about holding out for a 2.0 Sport but this 1.8 was just down the road and rust free. Plenty of car for me after years of sensible family estate cars!

The first of my four MX-5's was a stormy blue 2.0 Sport but a soft top version:

Very nice- love the wheels. Do you notice a big step up in performance with the 2.0?

I only ever drove the 1.8 in an old Ford Focus we had so hard to make any rational comparison.
The standard 2.0 can fly for sure but my current '5 has been on steroids, 260 bhp & over 209 lb/ft torque.
