We all like to keep our MX5s clean but not at the expense of driving them

So how often do you wash and polish your MX5 and what is your usual routine - a quick wash and drive to dry off or the full works - wash, clay bar, polish and wax?

Much though I like cleaning my MX5 I must admit that I prefer driving it, so usually only wash it if there is an OC event or other organised drive or if it is looking particularly dirty. I usually settle for the wash and dry (wash mitt and microfibre cloth to dry) and then go for a drive

I try to polish my car several times a year and once or twice a year will go for the full paint cleaner, polish and wax routine

Same as you mark only if we have a drive coming up then about once every 3-4 weeks

Seriously, this is becoming an obessesion - no not me claning mine but people talking about it

Hose
Bucket with shampoo..... lambswool mitt.....
do paintwork and glass - hose.... take thin crap cloth and do wheels.... hose... if paintwork has dried quickly then re-hose that as well
Get MFT and dry methodically by walking round and round until dry

Polish if in mood and have time and use of certain garage
Once in a blue moon do interior

Done when can and have desire to do so

At the end of the day, i do love looking at her when she's clean but i gain far more pleasure ind riving her and, after all, that's why i own her

In defensive mode.... seriously, you guys drive on MUCH MUCH MUCH cleaner (less dirty) roads that i... fact!

The same as most others, before a run out with the http://www.sl5ers.co.uk/ or at least once a month.No matter how much effort I put in, the car parked next to mine always looks better,a case of the other mans grass I guess.

All 3 at least once a week. And waxed as often as I get time. The routine depends on how dirty they are, but a good session can last 5-6 hours

I have a bit of a rota system going on which ones the dirtiest, as I have to do all 3 cars, my wife never washes cars , she always gets me to do it saying that "I" make a better job anyway .
But answering the question I always make sure that the MX5 is clean whenever I drive it which sadly is'nt often enough

In all fairness, I did clean the Mark 2 last Friday and Saturday evenings before the OC National Rally

Out with a few MX5 friends for a drive tomorrow too, so really should clean the one I'm taking, but I'm in rebel mode

wash each week end then about every 6 weeks polish, then at eight week rinse,wash dry polish and wax , then next week end wash, then six weeks later polish then at eight weeks rinse, next week end wash then about every 6 weeks polish then at eight weeks wash dry polish and wax then every week end wash all weather permitting of course I think this is habit forming :roflmao:

I was hoping that the galaxy grey stealth effect might mean I would get away with it!!
