But won't be cheap if it needs repairs I'd suspect....... :frantic:
But won't be cheap if it needs repairs I'd suspect....... :frantic:The Lexus is a great improvement on the Bluebird! :skip:
Yes Jono.......I love his capers, but can't really get my head round this one.....Even a Reliant Robin would have been practical at the side of those invacar thingys......I know the Invacar has a place in automotive history and should be simple to rebuild but why not something more worthy of the hard work?
Likewise Jono.....I just love looking at the old 60's/70's/80's motors, and where it used to be mainly Fords I looked for, I now find myself looking at all sorts of what were, even back then... Crap!!I have to accept I'm getting oldI found the two motor show reports very interesting. It was good to see such pristine examples of cars from the last 50 year's or so...even the sh!te ones.
Does to me too Jono, the fact it's a DAF answers many questions :frantic: .....He also mentioned 'delay on the brakes', the 7.5 tonners I've driven would easily catapult you out of the seat if you dipped the clutch too early, so something amiss there.....It sounds like an MOT failure.
You can tell Kev?.....Not keen on the wonderful Phuxhall Phuctra then, Chris?^^^^^^^^^^^Arrrrrrgggghhhhhhh!......
I'm with you Steve, some of the crap he buys, and blunders his way through 'repairing' is unique (I think). The more I watch the more I am drawn to this fella. My god he's no real spanner man and although I can't talk at the moment, that garage needs torched (quite possible in it's current state) or for him to get a bleeding skip and go to town on it. The main thing is that he is a trier and has some good theoretical knowledge. The Invacar has been a hoot IMHO.
Nice D.... :thumbsup:We had our moments eh Kev? Wish I still had the car.Ok, ok...I have to admit that from the late 60s to about the mid 70s, I was a long-haired, 19" loon-pants-wearing, tie-dye boy. Not exactly a 'hippie' because I went to college and had a 'proper' and responsible job, but like many of us at this "certain" age I was a young man of the times!
However, like all good things, it didn't last.
Like my old school mate exclaimed last year when we met up for the first time in 47 years..."Blimey, Kev - what happened??"
Good of him... :bored:

............... You had a Reliant Robin??
Aye......Yeah, I'd heard he was looking for something small and French with lots of character to replace the Jag.Strange - I didn't see our Garffey - thought we might have seen him wandering around there!![]()
Think I'd have had better things to do Kev....sorry,I'd love to have been part of that convoy - in my own 2CV !
I'd have asked my mate Garffey along for the ride too:hug:
