I thought I'd started a thread on this chap but can't find it.

He's a motoring journalist with a liking for older cars. His take on the 'green car' is not to buy a new small turboed hatch but to fettle something destined for the scrap yard and keep it going. He has a small fleet of old bangers.

His other interests include 4x4s, electric vehicles and facial hair.

Ah!....The S***vette....

Always wanted the HSR version. :inlove:
Noisy Jags! Not an electric drive between them ;)

The V12 E-type is the one I'd like to restore. For many years considered the ugly duckling of the range it was always the one I wanted.

They are all wonderful! The noise is so mechanical. Go back and listen to the red Ferrari that follows the quad-cam V12 XJ13 reconstruction out of sight. It sounds glorious too!

I bought a copy of Classic Jaguar and the articles were interesting. There were very few sedans in the second copy; that' the first time I have ever complained about too many sports cars!
The diesel absorbency of a spare pare of underpants!

Have to agree with HubNut....

Has got to be the worst gearchange ever on any vehicle let alone a van!!

Sadly I've driven a few in my time!...

After having driven plenty myself, I have to agree that the LDV Pilot is a crock of old *#%*@*#*!! Even when new they were rough, noisy, outdated and cramped in the cab. They were cheap though, which was their only real attraction and were popular with the impecunious and the tight-fisted!

They also had a Morris Minor-type exhaust reverberation on the overun, which was a bit of fun...brrrrrrrr-brrrrr-brrr-brrr-brrr-brrrrrrrrrmmmm...you know the sound!

HubNut is also a surprisingly good contemporary car reporter, better than many others I have watched lately.

Have a look at this...

As much as I like HubNut, I think his walking alongside the vehicle whilst it was under way was potentially "answering the door to Mr Cockup" - even at low speed, especially as it wasn't his!

There's a great 'Fail' clip of a road test where the driver gets out of the moving car and walks all the way around it. On getting back to the driver's door he finds the auto lock has engaged and he can't get back in. The look of panic on his face through the window to the dash mounted camera is priceless. Unfortunately I can't find it at the moment...I'll keep looking.
