I thought I'd started a thread on this chap but can't find it.

He's a motoring journalist with a liking for older cars. His take on the 'green car' is not to buy a new small turboed hatch but to fettle something destined for the scrap yard and keep it going. He has a small fleet of old bangers.

His other interests include 4x4s, electric vehicles and facial hair.

I normally loath Korean 'some car' fodder, but this is different.

So, it is possible to polish a tu*d! :)

The Bluebird is back on the road...but...

Thank you, Jono.

Can anyone say they are genuinely interested in the survival of a Nissan Bluebird? I know I am prejudiced I have actually owned Nissans; they are not exciting cars.

I keep watching these to see if I can figure out why he chooses such odd 'classics'. Turns out his dad had a Bluebird so this one's a nostalgia thing.

He told me there is 'great pleasure' in old rubbish....
The Nippa gets some new brakes.

^^^^^It certainly needed them! :frantic:
The Nippa gets some new brakes.

I am purposely not going to watch this! :nah:

If I was a shallow type I would now conclude never, ever to bother with HubNut again.

But I am not shallow and I still like him. I even believe there may be a little 'tongue in cheek' going on here! ;)

I hope so!

Just watched this again and have found quite a trip down memory lane, this was a brilliant car - period. A true sleeper, I got a lot of ribbing about getting my pipe and slippers when stepping into a Rover, that quite quickly stopped :giggle:

Surprised Jono hasn't posted this but he's been busy with all the debate about 'lekky' cars I see.....

Fast forward to 10.26 for some real motors.......

I fast-forwarded it to 10 mintes 26 seconds and was richly rewarded. Thank you, Chris.

A £50 Proton that he thinks is worth spending time and money on. I don't understand it.
