Thanks for posting, Chris.

Poor Ian is absolutely crestfallen, but I'm so glad he wasn't hurt.

A poor surface + rear wheel drive + lots of torque can catch out the best of us!

I hope Betty isn't too badly damaged.
(Please don't tell him this - but I'm really pleased he's not attempting the repairs himself!)

I used to know a chap in the late 1980s who's mother had an Arna and although it was only about 5 years old it was the tattiest thing I had ever seen! In just 5 years on British roads it had shaken itself into a rusty, wonky, rattly piece of junk! I reckon the one in HubNut's video must have been nurtured with kid-gloves to have it in such good condition to date. I bet good ones are becoming quite valuable now too!

Good work, Chris.

That was an interesting and informative clip. That shows Hubnut is trying.

There were several rear engined Soviet Block cars from the 1970s that we never saw in Australia... it was probably for the better: rear engined Renaults put me off.

Thank you, Chris.

That was surprisingly pleasant! Of course the MG Midget I owned had a 1275cc version of this engine and Morris Minor steering and... it was a totally different car but it had the 'well-made' charm of the Austin A35, I've just learned.

Hubnut has improved but he seems to have lost the camera girl?

Thank you for that, Chris.

What a good job Ian isn't trying to repair Betty himself, although I see that he couldn't resist fiddling with the window switches!

There must have been a massive force to bend that stout half-shaft over such a short distance. I'll be amazed if there isn't more damage to the bodyshell and/or suspension mounts too.

Thank you for that interesting clip, Chris, it brought back many memories for me, although I retired from commercial driving nearly 4 years ago and I'd be a bit rusty now. Also, the big stuff I drove was nowhere near as high-tech as that late model Volvo FH13 🙂
