I thought I'd started a thread on this chap but can't find it.

He's a motoring journalist with a liking for older cars. His take on the 'green car' is not to buy a new small turboed hatch but to fettle something destined for the scrap yard and keep it going. He has a small fleet of old bangers.

His other interests include 4x4s, electric vehicles and facial hair.

A £50 Proton that he thinks is worth spending time and money on. I don't understand it.
I do......

You could be the proud owner of a Proton Jono & have money left over from your 'brake pad' job.....

I don't get it either.

Sadly, despite trying not to, I am coming over all "shallow"

There's a few missing vids I'll stick up when I've a moment. A couple even have comments from some chap called Garffey.

Loved hearing the Renault 25 get a mention, vastly underated vehicle, I loved mine, owned for 6 years and 100% reliable even all the electrics including memory seats and multiple pneumatic cushions in the seats all worked when I sold it. It was only the 2.0 but would cruise at 100+ all day long.

Loads still being driven in France.

Lol....Jono, I must admit I love his 'capers' he reminds me very much of my step-father (not in looks) who loved nothing better than spending a day 'tinkering' with some vehicle he'd acquired from a local scrappers (usually under £100) and seeing if he could sort it's issues and make a decent runner out of it, I'm talking early 70's here....all in the name of pleasure, and it kept him out of the pub!! :giggle:

That V8 would go nice in an MX-5.

Thank you.

You are very tolerant, Jono. However, I watched this once but I couldn't stand the voice over without adverbs a second time!

That was his best post. It was very honest.
Saw this earlier....

I love 'Hub nuts' video's, but that garage! :frantic: ......

At least it will keep the local burglars away! :giggle:

He is a scruffy Herbert isn't he, Chris? Eminently likeable though

What a pity he only seems interested in truly awful automotive drudgery!
