As nice as the Cummins L10 sounds, it's not a patch on the original AEC 9.7 ltr lump, which had an iconic sound all of it's own.
I'd love to drive one now! 😍

Like you I've always hated the Beetle, even as a tiny child I hated the shape of the bliddy things and that awful noise they make!

That hatred goes on to this day and I could never, in all my 70 years, understand their cult-like following.

Absolutely agree with that particularly the sound. Even as a small boy (well a young boy, not sure I ever was small) knowing nothing about mechanical things I hated that sound, seemed to me they were always at a point of breaking down.
Mind you, around the same time I recall seeing a Hillman Imp and thought it looked great so what do I know?
