The name Kendo is taken from the Japanese for "Way of the Sword", a modern Japanese martial art of sword-fighting based on traditional Japanese swordsmanship. The name embodies this Special Edition, Kendo martial arts being renowned for exemplary fighting spirit, eye-catching dynamic movement and refinement. Kendo is also in part inspiration for Mazda's latest design concept car, Shinari, focussing on the elegant poise Kendo fighters hold before making a strike.
