This is the 'Nevada' I had for 6 weeks....Dunno why, just didn't get on with it.
On the up side I got more for it than I paid for it!
Did you get to keep the plate?
Sadly not Mark...... :nah:
Just revisited this....the reg number that was on my old 'Nevada' is now on a diesel Fiesta!!!!! :frantic:

Been following theses guys on Youtube as they are quite local to me.....This Mk2.5 I'd have thought beyond saving but the welding/plating is something else, and will give anyone planning to buy one nightmares!.... o_O
They call it a 'Rusteration!'....You'll see why!

Thank you for posting those excellent videos, Chris 👍

The amount of motivation, skill and time required on that dreadfully rusty old Mk2 seems way beyond it's worth.

Although it certainly makes entertaining viewing though, observing the highly skilled and relaxed approach to a complex problem and the amazing metalwork skills involved to make it good again.

That is one very fortunate, much loved, Mk2 MX-5 😊

Here's Thelma. She's a 1.8S VT with low mileage, and thought to be rust free. But Steve (YCR - videos mentioned above) has found that my chassis rails are in need a little tlc.....
But apart from that, she's a beauty

Mine Sadly hasn't been M.O.T.d since 2020, and think rust killed it at just over 60,000 miles!!

Great videos! Many thanks for posting, Chris 😃

Couple of things...
1) They are very fortunate to have such solid chassis rails on that NB.
2) I am surprised they didn't treat and paint the suspension wishbones.

Also, why d'you think they chamfered the inside edge of the bell-housing? 🤷‍♂️

Kev,
1... I agree, very lucky looking at the other parts!
2...Customer budget I think they said...Must be a Yorkie!...
3...Haven't a clue, unless err ...clutch/Flywheel clearance?
I've never seen that done before...

Quite a coincidence. The car was originally sold by Norton Way Mazda, my local mazda Dealer and Letchworth Car Auctions is now based in the Factory unit in which I was Materials Manager during the 1990s.

Thought you'd pick up on Norton way Nick....;)....The alloys are sport alloys though aren't they, and wouldn't be original given it's a 1.6, although I think it looks ok with them!
