1,937 miles in 20 years!

Even considering "ill health since 2012" it's still such a shame that this MX-5 wasn't driven and enjoyed as it was designed to be 😕

It needs a full recommission, a thorough rust proofing...then taken out and be driven like it was stolen! 😄

Project comfort underway:
1) Smaller wheelfor added knee room - finally using mats in my 5
2) Door card removal and replacement with more space freindly cards

After 7 years of NC ownership, going to an NB was a bit of a shock in terms of space (being a big guy). I've put up with having my knee squashed for 10 months, so time to do something about it. I'd looked at Trackcar door cards and decided they'd too minimal. Noteably the top of the door card going into the window. I then found LRB door cards, but didn't fancy paying an arm and a leg on shipping from US. I then found DCN's Etsy page and was hooked. A quick Google search found their main site and a £20 saving. Turned out they're in Greece. So ordered them with an 8" speaker gap before taking my door card off to check. So a quick email in Greek to change my order to oval.

I certainly didn't want to stay with a naked aluminium finish, so started looking round for suitable material. Rather than do what everyone else seems to be doing (box quilted), I thought i'd try something new (old). So I've ordered 1m of Golf GTI black tartan, 1M of top end vinyl, and a nice stiched vinyl trim. So excited for the finished look.

I'll post when it's done

Oh, and it seemed a shame to leave the original speakers in, so a nice new set of in-phase speakers are going in too.
