"Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong"

It doesn't absolutely have to be wrong but could be.... timing leaving you muttering something along the lines of "typical"... or stronger

Today..... catch up car wishing to travel slower. Okay, no worries.
Bide time. Know the road well so will wait for opportunity and zoom.
Okay, it's double white lines for a few hundred yards.
Nothing coming the other way. Creep gently up on the car and ease out as view of road ahead appears with broken white lines and..... yup! oncoming traffic
Double white lines re-appear, oncoming traffic disappears.
Next broken line arrives as does more traffic.
Aaaaaaahhhhhh!
You don't blame the guy/guyette in front but find yourself cursing the poor innocents coming towards you :stomp:

Traffic Lights: no matter where.
Roadworks, permanent sets.....
if you are in a hurry they will turn red in time for you to have to pull up
if you are looking to kill time cos you are early then they will turn or stay on green FOREVER

Just road works that are sat there and everytime you go past, and I am talking in the last 3 months, no one has been doing any work there!!!!! Slowing down is a good thing when people are working- I would not want to work on a busy road with only some bits or orange plastic in the way to save me from swerving cars- but when they don't work, could they not put the speed limits back up and remove the flipping cones!!!
