Having already an mx5 spotted thread i thought it'd be fun to just keep an eye out for other cars of interest.
Like the Zonda you see regularly parked outside the chippy every friday night ;)

Like, last summer a bundle of us were in south Wales. I was separated from the gang for a time but came across this piece of zoomy droppage

wi teeny weeny back window
well, am sure hood will be down most of the time so it won't matter :p

this piece of very drop-top which hangs around with a similar but in wow green

motorway services last June off the M42... or 40....

a bit more local to home

[the old and the new]

a bit of a cheat since this is my step-pa's but he's given it on long term loan to his son..... cos he loves his Eunos :D

and that which finally prompted me to create this thread..... making it a TVR hat-trick

TESCO car park, Newtown - yesterday :)
Confession ~ i love the two classic TVRs but the Cerbera does very little for me.
If the driver had fired her up.... i may've changed my mind :D

I'm sorry but I am a sucker for an E-Type... any E-Type. This car was on a run in Melbourne with the MGCC last month.

This one was on an MGCC run in Queensland. They are fabulous cars but an MX-5 is so much cheaper to run...

They look super cool Martin but have to agree give me a 5 any day
The red E-type has just had a new bonnet and 'tidy up' which cost tens of thousands of dollars more than my car cost!

i like e types but have never had the desire to own one
Saw an XKR (cheers Capt) drop-top parked up in Ludlow.
Later on in day saw an E-type about 100 metres from it
Earlier, saw an Aston... No. plate OO05AML... in a dirty bronze colour.
You're so lucky Jot, Ludlow is so evocative with its Castle ruins and sixteenth century architecture that it is the ideal place for another piece of English history... the E-Type.

MGs, Austin Healeys, Daimlers, Triumphs, Jaguars, a proper Vauxhall and a Sunbeam Alpine in Lake Blue (?) - a very respectable rally indeed! Thank you!
That was very considerate. Thank you again.:)
What is it about the Corvette Stingray which really is visually exciting? Perhaps it is because looks fast and powerful, and it is.

If you want some lovely E-Type pictures MJL, have a look here, I took these pictures as they drove through the office in February this year

Picture next to the statue of Sir William Lyon and the Jaguar Leaper over the office door
Thank you very much, Ca'p'n.:) I must confess a soft spot for large Jaguar sedans; the Mk 7 is very nice. :smug:I nearly bought a Mk 10 many years ago and always admire them.
I think, Safetymatch, that is what is called a faux pas. Or something beginning with 'f' anyway. Thank you for sharing it.
As Brockbank used to say, "An excellent example of money in the wrong hands!"

Saw this ZA MG Magnette on a run on Thursday and thought it still looks good. Think of its contemporaries from Vauxhall and Standard!

Droitwich today (just for MJL) :)
Is it just my (Apple) browser or are Safaristu's pictures missing?
Thank you for the thought.
Droitwich today (just for MJL) :)
Thank you, all has now become clear. (Thank you, too, Mark.)
They are great photographs of really nice cars. Most (except for the early Big Healey and the modern MGTF) made at Abingdon. Just wonderful.
Although it would have to be a drop top Porsche for me - so Boxster, if the 911 was beyond my reach (although in reality the Boxster is outside my budget too - maybe not the cost of buying an older one but certainly the running costs)
Couldn't agree more. Low running costs are part of the deign thinking on any Mazda, not maintenance as major source of profits like some other brands.:stomp: (I've always wanted to use that smiley.)

This may be the only sports car that doesn't look good in red; it is a factory Austin Healey GT that was raced in period. The photograph was taken at the Melbourne Grand Prix earlier this year.

Confession: I just can't get Sprites and Midgets out of my head.

Thank you, Jot, it is wonderful... of course, it was the car that started my love affair with sports cars.:)

On an MG Car Club run today there were lots of cute cars.

An MGA Twin Cam which raced in the 1960s and still has the wide rims. (N.B. My car sitting next to it.)

On the way to lunch I spent a lot of time chasing the MGB V8 driven with great flair by the organiser.

George's E-Type jaguar wasn't well so he bought his everyday car! (Where is the emoticon for sheer jealousy?)

with an 'A' sat beside i know of which one i have the jealous twinge
even with a lovely mk1, being by an 'A' is WOW and rather humbling.... and then there's the v8 too
I love 'A's and they remind me so much of Healey 3000s

Just for Jot! This is another MGA that was there yesterday.

MGAs are beautiful but much better to drive than a Healey... and a Twin Cam is better still.

Spotted this familiar marque that Jot modified after it held her up on one of her runs.
Thank you, that is one of my fantasies!;)
something a little different and only been out in early spring '11
Vw Amarok (Mike Oldfield also had an album of this title..... but anyway)
In the flesh it really appealed to me
In searching for an image i found the one i'd want
loving it :D
I don't wish to seem critical but... it is the ugliest pile of over-engineered German plastic I have ever seen! :stomp:perhaps I should have just said I don't like it?:nah:
