Not too keen on the Mk3 then, Chris?
They were churned out by the squillion in the '80s - I will always remember how the battery used to rust it's way through the battery box, then through the bulkhead, in only three years!!

I used to be very good at balancing twin carbs - small hose pipe for listening - flat jet spanner for adjusting the main jet - then balance a 50p coin on the rocker cover whilst the engine was running! ... Perfect!Saw a nice BRG Triumph Spitfire today. Mk IV version, Twin carbs that the chap was trying to balance in the car park in the drizzle. Nice specimen.
Wow! Pretty car...I wonder how the owner(s) stopped it from dissolving in the usual Lancia manner?A rather beautiful 1983 Lancia Beta Coupe on Tesco's car park this morning, almost identical to this one:

I remember the stories of their engines dropping onto the road. One of our neighbours around 1979 had a Lancia Beta but not the coupe. Around the late 1970s I had a couple Of AlfaSuds and they had a similar reputation for rust problems as did the Fiat X19.Ha! ... It's just that Lancias would dissolve faster than Alka-Seltzer if they got wet (or even if they didn't!)
"Plink, plink, fizz!"
.... the Lancia was in the car park again this morning. She sports a "Volumex" badge on the rear so she is the supercharged version - very tasty ! http://www.zeperfs.com/en/fiche2210-lancia-beta-hpe-volumex.htmA rather beautiful 1983 Lancia Beta Coupe on Tesco's car park this morning, almost identical to this one:
Let's hope the custodian of this lovely Series II tucks it up during the 'salty season' :nod:We regularly see this E-Type driving through Baldock several times a week.
