Having already an mx5 spotted thread i thought it'd be fun to just keep an eye out for other cars of interest.
Like the Zonda you see regularly parked outside the chippy every friday night ;)

Like, last summer a bundle of us were in south Wales. I was separated from the gang for a time but came across this piece of zoomy droppage

wi teeny weeny back window
well, am sure hood will be down most of the time so it won't matter :p

this piece of very drop-top which hangs around with a similar but in wow green

motorway services last June off the M42... or 40....

a bit more local to home

[the old and the new]

a bit of a cheat since this is my step-pa's but he's given it on long term loan to his son..... cos he loves his Eunos :D

and that which finally prompted me to create this thread..... making it a TVR hat-trick

TESCO car park, Newtown - yesterday :)
Confession ~ i love the two classic TVRs but the Cerbera does very little for me.
If the driver had fired her up.... i may've changed my mind :D

Near the bus station in Dewsbury yesterday dinner time a brown (B reg) Mk3 Ford Escort five door.....
Not too keen on the Mk3 then, Chris? ;)

They were churned out by the squillion in the '80s - I will always remember how the battery used to rust it's way through the battery box, then through the bulkhead, in only three years!!

Hmmmm....Not really bad for a FWD 'shopping trolley' Kev.....

I had an Estate version that went with my job back in 83/84 and caned it up and down the M62 everyday for months.....

Yes, I became aware of the battery box saga a few years later.....

Unfortunately my car was 'written off' by a chap covering my job for a while whilst I was in the business of getting married!

The  reference was for the brown colour.....we had a couple in that colour too, affectionately known as the 'Flying turds!'......

Saw a nice BRG Triumph Spitfire today. Mk IV version, Twin carbs that the chap was trying to balance in the car park in the drizzle. Nice specimen.

I used to be very good at balancing twin carbs - small hose pipe for listening - flat jet spanner for adjusting the main jet - then balance a 50p coin on the rocker cover whilst the engine was running! ... Perfect!

Within a handful of miles it would be running like a bag of spanners again!!

This procedure would be a weekly event if you were as fussy as me.

Great fun though. I also love the smell of petrol

Spotted this Austin Cambridge at Therfield yesterday. It used to belong to Wayne, I wonder if he has sold it

The Austin Cambridge was always a very nice-looking car.

My Dad had the pre-Farina model, A55, and that was our family car for many years, but it completely rusted out and was scrapped at 13 years old.

Just passing the house, a funeral with two black horses with plumes pulling an ornate black hearse.
Spotted in Hinxworth this morning. Was going to nick the number plate for Jim:

Wow! Pretty car...I wonder how the owner(s) stopped it from dissolving in the usual Lancia manner?

Ha! ... Fair point, Nick.

It's just that Lancias would dissolve faster than Alka-Seltzer if they got wet (or even if they didn't!)

"Plink, plink, fizz!"

I remember the stories of their engines dropping onto the road. One of our neighbours around 1979 had a Lancia Beta but not the coupe. Around the late 1970s I had a couple Of AlfaSuds and they had a similar reputation for rust problems as did the Fiat X19.

.... the Lancia was in the car park again this morning. She sports a "Volumex" badge on the rear so she is the supercharged version - very tasty ! http://www.zeperfs.com/en/fiche2210-lancia-beta-hpe-volumex.htm

We regularly see this E-Type driving through Baldock several times a week.

Someone has spotted it at our local Letchworth Council Tip Recycling Centre today :

Let's hope the custodian of this lovely Series II tucks it up during the 'salty season'
