I have found several confusing bits of info on the subject. Timpsons tell me that you can do it yourself with a blank chip and a series of on-off ignition turns. Yet other places. Miata.net etc say the chip has to be programmed. I have even found an alleged, programming machine. A Zed-Bull for £30 odd. What's true? It's a Mk2 not a 2.5. I only have one key! I have just cut the chip out (and my hand!).

Well, long story short, chip arrived as did machine, result, chip copied, wooo hooo

It could be, I can do Mk2 and probably 2.5s. Plus many many others. The list is huge!
