Good day Minnions, how are we all these days? I was just clearing up some rubbish in my archived favourites folder and stumbled upon my old MX5 stomping ground, so thought I'd stop by and say a quick hello.

Here's hoping everyone is well and tickety boo. I still keep in touch with a few from here via FB but for everyone else, a quick update on my world at the moment. ...... The Frogeye Sprite went off to pastures new last Sept, for a number of reasons but mainly because it wasn't getting used all that much due to me not being able get out of it once I was in - getting in was ok as I was assisted by gravity - which is a wonderful invention for folk of "a certain age" - but getting out again was an entirely different matter where it became, "who invented this daft thing". It was a tight fit even for an 'ickle fella like me. Also we couldn't get Rocky in it when we went off over the back lanes on our coffee 'n cake runs so we were tending to use the MG more for that - yes, still got it and still love it. So, Froggy went back to the chap I bought it from. I promised I'd give him first refusal if ever I sold it, so popped off an e.mail, we agreed a price within 20 minutes and he was here 3 days later to pick it up - easy peasy! The replacement is a restored 1979 Mini which like the Frog is structurally solid and it has no underseal to hide the ubiquitous multitude of sins, it's the same colour underneath as it on top and just as shiny :). It's far from standard, as you'd expect from one of my cars. but it's been reasonably well put together - there has been a lot of work done on it over winter, mostly making it "mine". It houses a Metro A plus 1300 engine and complete Cooper S brakes with a servo so it goes and stops quite well - nowhere near the same level of tune as the Frog was but it's not too shabby and it stops a lot better than that did.

Rocky is still with us - those who remember Jo will recall she died on Xmas eve 2019 and we rehomed Rocky at 9 months old at the end of January 2020. We've had "The Rockster" for 3 years now and he's turned into a lovely placid lad, he walks to heel brilliantly off his lead and his recall is now 100% - and he's great with the grandkids, they love him. He's still very cautious of new people, especially men, but once he gets to know them he's fine. He's living his best life :ROFLMAO:

That's pretty much up to date for me so I'll leave you with a pic of Minnie ..........

Awreet Kevvy Boy .. Skodaboy? 😁. I thought you'd get shot of the ND, you had a few issues with it as recall? Nice motors the Skodas, our Ben had one for a courtesy car after some stupid woman on her phone stuffed her Nissan Juke up the rear end of his car at traffic lights last October. He has a big Toyota Veilside import thing for ferrying his brood around (3 of them now) and she did a fair bit of damage to it. They had to wait for ages for a new tailgate to get sent from Japan so he only got it back about 2 weeks ago. Not sure which Skoda it was but it was a big bugger, I drove it once and liked it a lot. We've still got the Peugeot - or "Pig Hut" as it's become affectionately known. It's 3 years old in September so we'll be swapping it and I'd probably have another, it's got a lovely auto gearbox I have to say and it doesn't hang about. Glad to see you're still kicking about here mate, hope all is going well in your world 👍

Yes, the ND was a troublesome li'l bugger, so I eventually traded it for an Octavia vRS - the quick one - and a fine piece of kit it is too.

As for me...well, I'm a survivor mate and I've made the most of the crap hand I was dealt 3½ years ago. The good people of 'life' here helped me through some dreadfully dark times and they are an exceptional bunch of folk and I consider them all as friends for life

I turn 70 in June (catching you up!) and I'm enjoying retirement, spending some of my time doing voluntary hospital car driving for our local Volunteer Bureau. They are a great bunch of people and it's good fun helping others whilst poking two fingers up to the inland revenue!!

I hope you stay around here now, Dave - you have been missed 🙂

Eh-up Dave!....😁

Nice to see you back here, and to learn what's been going on with your motors (Sorry I don't do FB...)...
My mate used to have a 'proper' Mini very similar in black with a 1300 Austin GT engine, high lift cam and twin carbs, flared arches plus an almost straight through exhaust!
Went like a bat out of hell it did.... scary!😁
Sorry to hear the frogs gone but as you say practicality has to come into it...
Sadly I don't have either of my dogs anymore, but know your Jo was lovely and very obedient Rocky looks a fine fella now I bet.
I still have the ND and was due to trade it in soon when the new reg comes out but its been delayed after woman took Umbridge with it and assaulted it with her Nissan Note! ....
I've changed bikes a bit recently but back down to one 600 Hornet which will be going for m.o.t soon...
Thanks for updating us and hope we see a bit more of you round theses parts....(y)
Take care....

And there you have it D, you have been missed for sure. It's all a bit quiet on Life these days but the old 'worthies' are still hanging around and a few new faces too that we hope will hang around and contribute too.
As others have said, don't be a stranger, I think most of us love anything car, bike, well anything with and ICE to power it and of course we do like our animules too. Rocky is of course a sweetheart.
