Went on the NWOC run to Kettlewell with 31 other 5s, and we bumped into about 25 Peaks and Pennines OCers.

Washed and leathered the MX5 and the Puma, burbled down to Tesco and filled up with petrol. Queues all disappeared, will probably reform next at the Post Office to buy up stamps at the old price before they go up this month.

Took my 2004 Arctic in for it's 33000 mile service today.
Treated by the son and heir to a Thai lunch at Sukawatee, Hitchin. Now breathing chilli, garlic and Singha beer over the cats. Revenge for the fishy yawns I have to put up with normally.

For the secomd time this year.......removed my chrome filler cap as it has started to go pitted:( Luckily I have kept the old one. This is the second chrome filler cap i've had from MX5Parts and this time it is going back and I shall demand a refund instead of a replacement. I am now liking my standard flap ........ it's smarter and less hassle than having to constantly keep an eye out for blemishes.
I bought one of these in their half-price sale recently, it was boxed as a genuine Mazda part from the US - guess I better keep an eye out for signs of pitting too!

Had a haircut as I will be assisting at a preview evening for an Art Exhibition and Sale to help raise funds for the church tower restoration. The great and the good turn up to guzzle and slosh for free. Have to practise my curtsey as the Marquess of Salisbury usually appears as patron. At least he always buys a picture or two. Not sure if he has any wall space left in Hatfield House to hang them though.

Good turnout of viewers and buyers for both the professional artists and the amateurs:

E-bay had free insertion for fixed price items this weekend, so unearthed stuff that had been hidden in cupboards for years and posted it for sale. Amazed that three items went within minutes of me posting the ads. Worried now that I sold too cheaply !! Now I am busy packing and labelling for a trip to our friendly post office tomorrow.
Road taxed the 2.0 Fiesta ST for £215.00 today, far cheaper than my 1.8 MX5 !
I'll raise you...

Washed the Puma. Intended to wash all three cars but gave up when squalls of rain and wind erupted every half hour.
Visited Baldock Manor Care Home next door for a preview tour and very nice buffet lunch before they open for their first resident on 23 July.

Bought 2 new Bridgestone Potenzas for mine today! The shoulders of the fronts were very worn. Rears have about 5mm left on them so shoudl be Ok for a little while longer:)
What are the Potenzas like for grip and road holding in general ? Our new Fiesta has come fitted with them in 205 40 R17 size.
Now staring out the window as the Goodyear Airship flies past. Not enough time to find a telephoto lens so no photo.

Here it is
Evo magazine did a tyre test on Mk3.5 2.0sportsin 2010, here is an excerpt from it
http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2010-EVO-Tyre-Test.htm
Couple of things to bear in mind which were raised on MX-5.com where I originally posted it were that several popular tyre choices for MX5 were not tested, that the test was conducted at Continental's own test track and that the Potenzas they tested were not the correct load rating. So not an ideal test but something to mull over none the less. I have Potenza RE050s all round on mine,no probs

Thanks for that, I have Bridgestone Turanza ER300 in 195 50 R15 on my MX5 and son has same on his Puma and they seem reasonable on both cars.
Lets hope they are not too rowdy when they move in.
I was told that we won't hear the screams through the padded walls.
