I was just having my dinner after collecting the wife from work and before taking the lad to work, (or the car would have been on the drive!) when there was a 'bump'....
I looked out to see a Nissan Note had decided to make an 'unprovoked reverse attack' from the car park opposite on the ND!!...
All caught on CCTV that I have and the lady over the road has too...Thankfully.
I took the ladies details after she had received my views! 🤬
After 20 minutes on the phone to my insurers (Flow...Very good I have to say).
Car is booked for inspection on Wednesday....But repairs are into May now she informs me!
Hopefully this won't delay the collection of the new car....but we'll see.
Sadly it's uncovered the previous repair that I always suspected the car had while in Arnold Sharks ownership....but it is what it is, and suspect why the car was a bit cheaper to buy.

See below the damage 😥

Thanks GD!.... 😁 ....Next time I'm out Southport way, I'll bring the Yorksheer mafia with me! 🤣🤣

But truthfully as you rightly point out the local body shop might make a better fist of it than 'Sharks' did....🤭

Bloody hell Chris, I've just been catching up and came across this, bad that the incident has happened in the middle of a changeover of car but what baffles me is the sheer volume of filler used on this repair. Although I don't know your local AC I do know many of them, as with other franchised dealers, hive body repairs out to third party shops, really no excuse other than short cuts for this amount of filler on any repair these days.OK the rear wing makes access difficult to manipulate back to shape but that's what these fancy spot welded or even glued on puller pegs are for.

On a slight tangent but really indicative of where some shops are at these days, when Jackie had a bump in the Focus back end of 2020, we put it in for repair with the insurers recommended shop, it came back and the first thing I saw was a crease in the front wing where the bulk of the damage was, yup, instead of getting a new wing at sub £120 to the trade, they had tried to beat it out (poorly) then spent time and materials to prep and paint it. Needless to say I was straight on the phone to the insurers and images were e mailed out. The body shop actually contacted us personally and apologised, said of course it should have been a new wing etc etc, all the usual platitudes but, I'm sure that they would have charged to insurance company in full and hoped it was one they could tuck up their sleeve.

Fingers crossed that you get this sorted ASAP.

Oh bl**dy hell fire, Chris!!! I'm so sorry to see this 😧

As GDC said above, it will probably have a better repair this time, but I hate to see good cars damaged like this 😣

So right Steve, and while I'd always suspected a repair to the wing due to a slight colour shade difference I was surprised at the amount of filler in there too....The car was probably an ex demo car at 'Sharks' in Liverpool (they are the previous owner) so was most likely farmed out to some back street skally repair shop!...
The lady that bumped the ND, came knocking on the door yesterday to apologise (I accepted....and apologised for my choice of language! ;) )....
But as she claims she's just had a bereavement then shouldn't have even been driving!!....
Then she asked could she pay for repairs at her choice of garage (I know them well)...I suggested that as I need to get on and repair it I would decline.

I was left wondering how she knew the garage in question as she claims to not have had a bump in years! .....Hmmm
Or she took her car to see about repairs and the garage are touting for work!....
Either way I'd prefer she didn't pay and just pay her excess and move on....I also want my repairers to sort the dent in the bumper at my cost that happened just a few weeks after I got the car.....It had always been my intention to sort the rear wing/paint but with covid and everything else got pushed back.
That said I'd have been somewhat pi**ed if I'd stumped up for repairs only for her to undo all the work!

While picking up wifey from work in the strong winds a black bag was blown under the Vitara, but I never saw it leave out the back!...
So I stopped expecting to see it stuck around the suspension, exhaust or something.
Fortunately it wasn't...But I noticed the undertray was hanging down at one side, so between the snow showers this afternoon I set about fixing it back up, thankfully it was just a matter of a couple of broken plastic clips (no screws at all...Fortunately I've purchased a kit of fixings recently)..and all was secure again!...Nice and easy!...👍
